The process file wgengmon.exe is an executable file which is incorporated with the WinGate application. The process wgengmon.exe supports the program WinGate Internet Client and is a component of Wingate proxy server software. The wgengmon.exe has a visible window when running the program. The WinGate Internet Client Monitor, that supports the executable file wgengmon.exe, appears in the system tray of each workstation on the network reassuring clients that their workstations have connectivity with the WinGate server. The process wgengmon.exe is not a hardware related program and loads during startup.
The application WinGate Internet Client Monitor, which houses the process file wgengmon.exe, has an anti-virus plug-in installed in the WinGate server, all computers utilizing WinGate for Internet sharing benefit from potent anti-virus protection powered by Kaspersky Labs. When used in combination with WinGate, Kaspersky AntiVirus utility protects most Internet protocols at the Internet gateway, ensuring complete antivirus security for valuable electronic assets. In addition, any servers utilizing these protocols behind WinGate will also benefit from the same antivirus security, providing a network wide safeguard from virus attack.
Due to WinGate's architecture, all computers using WinGate for Internet sharing are impenetrable from the Internet. In addition, the WinGate server is protected by a built-in firewall that blocks incoming hack attempts. The WinGate firewall, that supports the executable file wgengmon.exe, controls all packets that are allowed through or denied by the server, securing the entire network from the main entry point.
