The user needs to manually download and install the webtrap.exe software for it to be present in the system. It is ultimately up to the user's discretion to remove, install or change the webtrap.exe program. The user can employ an updated system monitoring and anti malware program so that the activities of the webtrap.exe application can be checked. Some malware may hide itself as the webtrap.exe process to gain entry into the system.

The file size for the webtrap.exe file on a system running on a Windows XP platform is 233472 bytes. The webtrap.exe process does not have a visible window and runs hidden in the background. The program offers antivirus, antispyware, antispam, antiphishing, identity theft protection, two-way firewall and parental control.
