Windows Process Description:

The warner.exe file is a part of the CyberWarner process.

The warner.exe process is not a core operating system file. The warner.exe process is often pre-installed with Packard Bell computers, particularly the R500 model. The warner.exe software is not essential to the operation of the computer system. It is ultimately the user's decision to remove, retain or change the warner.exe software. It is recommended that the user retain an advanced system monitoring program and anti-virus tools to check the processes of the warner.exe application. Some malware may disguise themselves as the warner.exe process to gain entry into the system.

The warner.exe file was developed by G.Tek Technologies but is being distributed by Packard Bell as part of its support software. The warner.exe software protects users of Packard Bell computers by monitoring and recording all computer activities and processes. Labeled as sentinel software, the warner.exe application has the ability to generate an immediate onscreen warning if the user begins an action that will result in a critical error that will damage the computer's integrity. The CyberWarner program also tracks user activity to enable fast and easy troubleshooting.

The program can disable some user initiated activities and processes if the program deems that it may be harmful to the system. Some file sharing or computer abilities may be lost if the user concedes to all the CyberWarner program's warnings. The program gives a warning when a system file gets changed, when there is a virus in the system, or a hard drive is having a problem, or if some necessary files have been changed.

The CyberWarner program is considered necessary if the user wants to keep constant track of changes to system files. It runs in the background and may take up too many resources while doing so.

The user can uninstall the warner.exe process by accessing the CyberWarner folder through the Programs list on the Start Menu, or by using the Add/Remove Programs function in the Control Panel. Once uninstalled or corrupted, the CyberWarner software can only be re-installed if the user was able to obtain a CD installer from the distributors of the Packard Ball computer it came with, as it almost always is already pre-installed.
