The software HydraVision Viewport or Appian Graphics HydraVision Viewport houses the process viewport.exe. It is registered to ATI Technologies, Inc., a world leader in the supply of video, graphics and multimedia products and Appian Graphics Corporation, a pioneer in the development of multiple monitor software and hardware solutions. In 2001, ATI acquired ownership of Appian's HydraVision desktop management software and related technologies; several monitor related patents and the HydraVision trademark.

The program viewport.exe is desktop management software that provides users with an interface for simplified management of multiple displays. It includes window and dialog box control, independent resolutions and refresh rates, hot-key shortcuts, independent application control, and use of up to nine virtual desktops. The viewport.exe application has been integrated with the Radeon family, ATI's technology-leading graphics processor, and will be a key component of future ATI graphics products.

The viewport.exe program enables the use of two monitors at the same time allowing your computer to treat them as a single desktop. It monitors and regulates window and dialog box replacement according to user preferences when using multi-monitor setup.
