The process udetect.exe is an executable application that auto-sense and detects USB1 devices. It belongs to Ali Corporation, the world's leading supplier of integrated circuits for high speed imaging, storage, and multimedia peripheral products. It is one of the few companies to own Intellectual Property Rights in its own field.

The file udetect.exe is incorporated in all Ali device drivers for Windows 98, Windows Me, and Windows XP with a current file version of 1.0.0.1. The udetect.exe application allows you to connect or disconnect devices without shutting down or restarting your computer.

Once a USB device has been detected, the program udetect.exe puts an icon in the system taskbar. This icon remains while the USB hardware device is still attached to the computer. The application udetect.exe allows you to select the hardware device you want to unplug or eject from your computer by right clicking on the icon and then click stop. Wait for Windows notification message that permits you to remove the hardware device safely from your computer. Unplugging of ejecting devices without first stopping them can often cause your computer to crash and lose valuable data.

The udetect.exe file has occupies a minimal amount of disk space with only 56.0 KB or 57344 bytes on Windows XP. When active, it uses around 2.3 MB of RAM resources. The file udetect.exe is commonly located in a subfolder of C:/Windows/.
