Windows Process Description:

The file STUPASSIST.EXE is an executable process for Nikon Digital Camera Drivers. This means the STUPASSIST.EXE process is a user-initialized process and not an OS-executed one. But the STUPASSIST.EXE process is frequently installed with the default setting of initializing during startup. The default boot time initialization setting of the STUPASSIST.EXE process is configured by the program's installer during installation. However, the STUPASSIST.EXE process remains to be a background process even if it initializes during boot time. This is because the STUPASSIST.EXE process remains in the system background up until a compatible hardware device such as a Nikon digital camera is plugged into the computer.

The user can also opt to manually execute the STUPASSIST.EXE process by double-clicking on the actual file whenever a System Tray shortcut icon of the STUPASSIST.EXE process does not appear after a compatible hardware device has been plugged to the computer.
