Windows Process Description:

The Intel WebOutfitter contains the process STTRAY.EXE. The STTRAY.EXE file is the launcher of the Intel WebOutfitter application. This means the STTRAY.EXE file should initially be executed by the user in order to launch the main application window of the Intel WebOutfitter program. This also means that the STTRAY.EXE process is a user-initialized process and not an OS-executed one since the STTRAY.EXE process should first be double-clicked by the user in order to call upon the other components of the Intel WebOutfitter application and launch the main application window of the program. The STTRAY.EXE process, like a lot of executable launchers of various programs, also has shortcut icons placed by the installer of the program during the installation process. These STTRAY.EXE file shortcuts are situated on the desktop and the Start Menu< Programs< Intel WebOutfitter options list. These STTRAY.EXE process shortcuts should be executed by the user through single mouse clicks in order to launch the main program window of the application as well as for the STTRAY.EXE process to call upon the other integral files of the Intel WebOutfitter program.

After the execution of the STTRAY.EXE process or its shortcuts, the Intel WebOutfitter program runs in the background. The Web Outfitter program then creates a System Tray icon that is an actual shortcut to the STTRAY.EXE file. But the installer of the Intel WebOutfitter program configures the program and the STTRAY.EXE process together with its components to initialize during boot time. This is the default setting of the program's installation process. Even when the default setting of the program is left unchanged, the STTRAY.EXE process creates a System Tray icon of itself that provides the user with a convenient means of executing the STTRAY.EXE process and call upon the other processes housed by the program in order to provide the user with access to its full range of features. These features are presented in a pop-up menu options box where the user can choose the necessary functions to execute.
