The lexpps.exe program is a background task for Lexmark Printer Port Scanner utility. It automatically loads and installed with other printer drivers which allow bi-directional printing and sharing a printer over a peered network. To do this task, it binds to TCP port 1025, which sometimes poses a threat to your network if you are not behind a firewall. The file lexpps.exe also records inputs and sends data on other open ports to the internet or local area network. It sits in the background and waits for incoming connections.
The lexpps.exe file may not be a critical system component but it is a valid application program supporting Lexmark printers. The application lexpps.exe is not required to run on startup but there is no way to disable it from starting up.
