The application launchap.exe is a file created by Acer, Inc. It is related to the process launapp.exe and the file keyhook.exe and comes as one of the components of the software Acer Launch Manager. The file launchap.exe is normally found on all Acer brands particularly the Acer TravelMate 610. However, it also comes pre-installed to some Fujitsu products.

The process launchap.exe allows the programming of normal keyboards to function as hot keys to Acer multimedia keyboards. It empowers Acer multimedia keyboards with 14 programmable buttons to start your web browser, open your My Documents folder, control the volume of your media player and playback of your video and CDs. It also allows you to reprogram the keyboard buttons and create shortcuts to other applications of your choice. But once the process launchap.exe is terminated, the multimedia capability of the keyboard goes back to its normal function.
