The process imekrig.exe supports the applications of Microsoft Office under different versions of the Windows particularly Windows 95 and Windows 98 and NT 4.0 when encoding Asian text characters. Instead, the IME through the imekrig.exe process monitors a user's keystrokes, expect the characters the user might want, and presents a list of language options and characters to choose from. IME is only enabled in East Asian particularly in China, Japan and Korea through localized Windows operating systems.
