Windows Process Description:

The process file icabar.exe is a component belonging to the Citrix MetaFrame. Both the Citrix MetaFrame and the file icabar.exe are from the company Citrix Systems. The program file icabar.exe is the administration or administrator toolbar for the Citrix MetaFrame. The file icabar.exe is an executable process that is required by Citrix Metaframe to initialize and run during the Windows boot up process. In line with the startup requirement, Windows automatically runs the process icabar.exe during its boot up process via one of these keys in the registry: RunOnce, RunServicesOnce, Run or RunServices. The default location of the icabar.exe process file in Windows XP operating systems is the subfolder: C:/Program Files/Citrix/system32/icabar.exe.

One of the most observed problem or error concerning the application icabar.exe is when it fails to display a toolbar on the computer desktop. Citrix Systems' tech support suggested the following troubleshooting procedure in cases that the icabar.exe file toolbar fails to appear. First, go to the Run command and the input the process file icabar.exe; a tiny gray box will then appear in the middle of the user's desktop. Right click on the tiny gray box and then choose Customize. Click or select the option Use Default and then select OK. The MetaFrame toolbar will then appear at the top portion of the screen; users then have to drag the toolbar and place it on the right hand portion of the desktop. In the event that the toolbar disappears from view, users have to drag the toolbar and then place it instead on the left or top portion of the screen. In case the procedure still fails to open the icabar.exe process' toolbar, users are advised to launch the Windows Task Manager, choose the icabar.exe file and then minimize it. The toolbar will then appear in the Windows toolbar. Users will then have to maximize it this time and then re-execute the procedure.
