Windows Process Description:

The file hphupd06.exe is an active process that is tasked to keep HP Photosmart updated for security purposes. During the updating process, a notification from Hewlett Packard is sent to the user. This notification is a message that informs the user regarding the updates released involving the Photosmart software. The user may then obtain the update through the Support Services Online.

To do so, the user may choose the Software update from the box that states "I want to update..." Two documents entitled Software Update Management (SUM) User Guide and Software Update Manager SAID Linking Training are then presented to the user. To begin with the updating, simply follow the instruction on the first document. By doing so, the SAID is being linked to the user's account. When the SAID has been completely linked, the user must follow every single instruction on the second document. Once the update has been fully downloaded, license key for the process hphupd06.exe must be obtained by submitting a support case to the Licensing domain. The upgrade license will be immediately sent to the user's email address.
