Windows Process Description:

The gbtray.exe process, usually called 'GoBack Tray Icon', is associated with the GoBack software by Roxio, Inc. Upon installation of the GoBack software, the gbtray.exe process automatically creates a shortcut on the system tray, providing the user an easy access to the said program.

The GoBack software is a utility that enables the recovery of previous system settings in case unexpected errors corrupt the system. It allows the user to 'go back' to any particular time in the past when the system was working perfectly and save that setting, thereby preventing serious damage to the system.

By creating an icon in the system tray, the process gbtray.exe allows the user to access the features of the GoBack System Restoration software conveniently. This way, the user may immediately avail of the features that GoBack software provides.

The gbtray.exe process is not a critical system process. However, recommendation against the termination of the gbtray.exe process is given since removal of it may adversely affect other relevant processes, or even cause the entire software's malfunction.
