The g2svc.exe process, also known as the GoToMyPC Host Loader, is a core component of the GoToMyPC software by ExpertCity. GoToMyPC is a remote access tool used for manipulating a remote computer using the internet. As part of this software, the process g2svc.exe provides users a secure way of accessing their computers using any wireless device or Web Browser.

The g2svc.exe process allows individuals or even companies to register their PCs online through an automatic installation and quick registration process. Upon initiation, the g2svc.exe process displays the desktop of a target remote computer on the screen of a local computer.

The user needs to log in to the GoToMyPC Web site to be able to connect. When successfully logged on, a window, which is actually an emulation of the remote PC, opens. The g2svc.exe process then allows the user to control programs on the remote PC just by using the local computer's mouse and keyboard. All the programs from the remote PC open within the window's border, including some extra functions. The process g2svc.exe also allows the user to restart the remote computer, print documents, send files, and adjust the distant computer's window size.

In addition to all these, the g2svc.exe process offers many powerful features including simultaneous connections, AES, 128-bit encryption, full control mode, and multiple monitor support.

The process g2svc.exe normally has a file size of 172102 bytes. This program does not launch any visible window when started and does not perform any crucial role in the computer system. Although considered a non-essential file, the g2svc.exe process must not be terminated especially if the user frequently utilizes GoToMyPC software. Termination of this process may adversely affect the performance of the program housing it.
