Windows Process Description:
The fpdispxa.exe process, also known as the FinePrint Dispatcher, is a component of the FinePrint Printer Utility. The process fpdispxa.exe is required to run in order for Fineprint to work properly.
The printer utility FinePrint has the ability to condense printouts to as small as 1/8 of the original size of the page and still not compromise the legibility of the output. It allows the user to combine multiple applications into a single print job. The fpdispxa.exe process handles the files lined up for printing when the user uses FinePrint. The process fpdispxa.exe works under Windows 95/98/ME or Window NT/2000/XP/Vista.
The process fpdispxa.exe may be launched on Windows startup, in which case, it will run automatically in the background. Alternatively, if the user unchecked this option in the Settings Tab, the fpdispxa.exe process will start and stop every time FinePrint is used. Windows will launch the fpdispxa.exe process upon system startup from the registry key HKLM/Software/Microsoft/Windows/CurrentVersion/Run. The user will see a string value named "FinePrint Dispatcher" when he runs REGEDIT and navigates to that key. The string value should be C:/Windows/system/fpdispxa.exe for Windows Operating Systems 95 and 98. To enter the registration key of the FinePrint Utility, the user must print to FinePrint in the Work Station edition, and then wait for the preview window to come out. There, the user should click the 'About' Tab and fill the serial number box there.
To check that the process fpdispxa.exe is running, the user may look for 'pfdisp4a.exe' or 'pfdisp.exe' in the Processes Tab of the Windows Task Manager. To do this, the user must simply press CTRL+ALT+DEL.
If the fpdispxa.exe process is terminated unintentionally by the user or by some other reason, then it must be restarted. Otherwise, the user may not be able to use FinePrint printer totally. The user can do this by running the fpdispxa.exe process or FinePrint Dispatcher shortcut in the program group of FinePrint. The FinePrint should be able to function properly from here.
