The process fourthday.exe is a process installed by the FourthDay software that provides an astronomical clock and almanac to the user's system tray. It provides an accurate 3D earth simulation via a satellite called Earth Display that allows the user to view both the day and night side of the earth simultaneously. The Earth Display can give a detailed image of landmasses, nighttime urban lighting and cloud layers.
The fourthday.exe process can calculate the time of sunrise and sunset, exact display of lunar phases, start and end of twilight, local noon, etc. just by knowing the user's exact latitude and longitude coordinates. If the user does not know the coordinates, then he can simply select from about 23,000 database entries also provided by this program. Furthermore, the fourthday.exe process can provide the user multiple options for fully customizing the Earth display, even allowing him to set his home location.
In addition to the aforementioned, the process fourthday.exe enables the user to synchronize his computer's clock with the master timeserver of the US Naval Observatory over the internet. The fourthday.exe application also features automatic update of the user's wallpaper with the concurrent simulated view of the earth.
It is the user's choice to leave the process fourthday.exe running automatically on boot-up. If the user finds this program useful, then it is best to keep it running automatically in order to save time and effort in initiating its execution.
The fourthday.exe process works on Windows 95 version or later. The FourthDay software, which is the program that houses the fourthday.exe process, is a shareware product. Thus, the user could avail it anytime as a trial program (for 14 days) and decide to buy only if he finds it useful. This program is currently not available on CD-ROM though.
If the user finds anything suspicious about the fourthday.exe process present in the computer system, then it is advisable to scan the PC using an anti-malware program in case it is a malicious program disguised. Otherwise, the user is advised against the deletion of the fourthday.exe process.
