The find.exe application or Find String Utility is associated with Windows Operating System from Microsoft Corporation. The find.exe process is used to find a file in a given directory and in all of its sub directories. The find.exe process will find the full directory path and where the files are located. If find.exe process will not find a specified path, it will search the text typed at the prompt or piped from another command. Upon its execution, the find.exe process also calls a host of DLLs, some .exes files and other essential processes to begin searching for the file. The process find.exe is a valid Windows system process that runs in the background. The find.exe file is a trusted file from Microsoft.

The find.exe file is commonly found in the directory C:/windows/command/. The application uses 178688 bytes in Windows XP. The application is also loaded during Windows boot process by adding the registry key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE/Microsoft/Windows/CurrentVersion/Run to the system's registry. The find.exe process is part of the Windows OS and should not be removed to avoid problems with your computer system.

There are some issues associated with the find.exe process when being used. For example, the process find.exe encounters a problem associated with the Ulib.dll file.
