The filtrgrd.exe application or FilterGuard is an internet filtering software. The filtrgrd.exe application is associated with SOS Internet filtering software. It's usually found in the lower left of the screen and looks like a lifesaver. This process filtrgrd.exe icon is a shortcut to access the basic features of SOS-Guardian, SOS-KidProof Lite, SOS Best Defense and SOS Pro such as Internet filtering utility. The icon in the system tray that the filtrgrd.exe process creates initializes a window application that shows the settings of the filters and gives user access to configure the Internet filtering.

The filtrgrd.exe file is an executable file that creates an icon in the system tray. Users can right click on that icon to open the software. The filtrgrd.exe file executes an application for SOS filtering software.

The filtrgrd.exe application is housed in the SOS-Guardian program. This is an internet filtering solution for Windows 95 data protection and configuration. Both SOS Pro and SOS-Guardian can be run in the network. Settings can be done under Network Neighborhood. It can prevent remote administration, dial up server, printer sharing, file sharing and access to control settings property tab.

SOS Best Defense is also another program housing the process filtrgrd.exe. It is more on system configuration than the other two mentioned above. It prevents Display Resolution changes, changes of general appearance, screen saver changes, hardware changes of network hardware/software settings, hardware deletion and modifications, creation of hardware profiles, system changes to driver port and spool settings, registry editing, deletion/addition or printers, and MS Dos prompt applications.

Lastly the SOS-Kid Proof Lite also uses the filtrgrd.exe file. It provides protection for family and children in the Internet. The Internet filtering is active after installation with no additional configuration. It prevents unauthorized access to Task Manager during boot.

The filtrgrd.exe application uses 801Kb to 1.5Mb and is fully functional in Microsoft Windows 95, Microsoft Windows NT Server, and Microsoft Windows NT Workstation.
