The file fbmount.exe, also known as the utility Mount Safe & Sound, is an integral part of the antvirus-diagnostic software McAfee VirusScan. The process fbmount.exe upon execution basically inspects the system by calling a set of .Dll's and .Exe's incorporated with the procedure, creates sets of back-up files for critical files or selected directories, and places or updates these files in contained area in the hard drive whenever changes are made to them. Once properly configured, the process fbmount.exe can run automatically in the background.
