The file conmgr.exe is a process provided by Internet Service Providers such as Earthlink that enable you to establish a connection to your Internet service. The conmgr.exe process also serves as an ISP installation file. The process conmgr.exe, which is also known as the Internet Access Connection Manager, has file sizes of 290816 bytes, 118784 bytes, 286720 bytes, and 122880 bytes in differing Windows XP operating systems. All these file sizes vary depending on the program version and the type of Internet service being used. While running, the program conmgr.exe does not show any visible application window. The process conmgr.exe may start automatically whenever MS Windows starts up. This can be done through the addition of the registry key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE/Microsoft/Windows/CurrentVersion/Run that is found on your MS Windows system registry. The process conmgr.exe is capable of recording user inputs though this process is not a core file of Windows.

Earthlink is one of the more known ISP's that houses the process conmgr.exe. This company provides different types of Internet services such as dial-up, satellite, Digital Subscriber Line (DSL) and cable. Earthlink also offers Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) services of different types.

The conmgr.exe process can be found in the C:/Program Files/Earthlink 5.0/folder. Be sure to keep the process conmgr.exe in its default installation location and avoid moving it to a different folder since doing this may affect the performance of the program. For added protection, always perform system scans using your anti-malware tool in order to prevent malware that may tend to camouflage as the conmgr.exe process.
