Windows Process Description:

The process config.exe is Foxit Software's configuration tool for the Windows Access (WAC) Server Utility. The process config.exe provides you with a console tool or a user's interface that is designed to let you remotely access the basic configuration settings of your server. The Windows Access Server utility, which houses the process config.exe, has an approximate file size of 2.67 Megabytes. WAC serves as a fully featured SSH server, a serial port server and a telnet server. The process config.exe's host program enables multiple users to log on to a Windows server specifically Windows XP, NT or 2000. It also executes remote access. WAC has a free built in client that supports the full use of the keyboard, mouse and colors. WAC is highly reliable, and this utility tool consumes low amounts of resources. Together with the process config.exe, which serves as a configuration tool for the Windows Access Server Utility, a collection of remote administration programs are also bundled in this server utility tool. Some of these bundled programs are the registry editor and a few command line tools such as those for email inbox, session manager, and the text/binary file editor.

Foxit Software is a Silicon Valley-based company that mainly produces PDF-related software products. Some of the well-known products under Foxit Software include the Foxit PDF Creator, which is a tool that converts any Windows document into a PDF file. The Foxit PDF Editor and the Foxit PDF Page Organizer enable users to split and merge PDF files.

The process config.exe can be located in the Windows folder. The process config.exe should remain in its default installation location and it should not be transferred to a different folder in order to avoid program errors and system failure. To maintain an error-free system, make sure that the process config.exe is a genuine file and not a malware in disguise. Some malicious processes may disguise themselves as the process config.exe. A malware that is disguised as the process config.exe usually consumes abnormal amounts of RAM. It is also highly recommended that you regularly scan your system using your updated anti-virus and anti-spyware tools.
